Paris Saint-Germain Edges Olympique de Marseille on Penalties to Secure Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

Trophy celebration scene

PSG has now won the prestigious trophy on 14 separate occasions.

The Parisian giants required a dramatic leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to overcome Marseille in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward triumph in the showdown featuring the French league winners and the Coupe de France winners after the French winger opened the net in the opening stages.

However, Marseille fired two times late to seize a shock lead. Initially, the English forward scored from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable twist of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a crucial leveler in the final moments to send the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the key figure, stopping crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all converted with composure for PSG to complete a convincing shootout win.

The record champions PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the past 13 years.
