Intensive Russian Strikes Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the urban area experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The strikes come after nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
